According to “The Social Media Marketing Workbook 2016” Twitter provides various marketing goals for many for-profit business. By simply using social media businesses can reach and connect with their publics in new and innovative ways. Twitter is just one way that this connection can be reached. Below are five useful purposes for Twitter or many businesses consider them to be their common marketing goals for Twitter itself.

Stay Top of Mind/One Touch to Many
Use Twitter to continually remind users that follow you about your company, product, and/or service. This simple action can allow various relationships to build and strengthen.

Insider/Loyalty Programs
If you are a brand with a core group of loyal customers, you can use Twitter to stay in touch with this elite group and reward them with insider information, tips, special deals and even coupons. Once again, you will be building relationships and reaching out to your consumers in new ways.

Coupons/Bargains
If you decide to use coupons or discounts, especially in retail, customers commonly scan Twitter for coupons and special deals. This is a very cheap and effective way to reach your consumers and reach them in a new environment compared to the typical paper versions.

On-Going Discussions
Use hashtags (#) to participate in on-going global conversations, which in return will help to market your products or service. A special case of this is trade shows, which often use a hashtag to allow participants to converse via Twitter. By allowing your consumers to engage with one another relationships are continuing to be built once again.

News Alerts
If your company likes to send out news or important information Twitter is key for breaking news. With Twitter being a very fast-paced social media channel this allows a great opportunity to release information as it occurs and reach your publics very quickly and effectively.

Overall, Twitter is a great way for businesses to build relationships and in turn gain a profit from their consumers. Have businesses influenced or reached you in any of these ways? I would love to hear your thoughts. Feel free to comment below!
